June Liu 刘玥 / SpicyGum – Chinese Manager scolds her Employee for Being Late (Short V – JL_061)
“Sun chopped at the angle of the blazing afternoon. Sweat trickled down June Liu’s porcelain forehead. As the owner of a bustling electronics store, her patience was wearing thin from dealing with an insufferably lazy employee. Today was the last straw as he strolled in half an hour late, smelling like a cheap hookah lounge.
Posting herself at the store’s entrance, June glared at the bandana-clad youth sauntering towards her with the gait of a hungover sloth. “Where in the seven hells have you been, YOU chronically tardy sloth?!” she barked, her petite hands balled into fists.
The young man paused, startled. “Sorry, boss. Missed the bus, see?” His dark eyes darted furtively.
June let out a heated sigh, a vein pulsing in her temple. “This is the third time this week! I should fire you on the spot for your insolence!” Her voice echoed through the store, startling a few patrons. The young man shrank back, hands raised.
“Listen here, Ya-ba lang!” she snapped, employing a colloquial insult. His eyes widened. “If this happens again, pack your bags and go find another job! I won’t tolerate this level of dishonesty and tardiness anymore!”
“Each time you’re late,” she continued, counting on her nimble fingers, “I want you to fill out a reason attendance sheet. And for every sheet, you owe me a week’s pay! Got it?” She jabbed an accusing finger into his chest.
The young man nodded meekly. “Sorry, boss lady… It won’t happen again, I promise.” June just rolled her eyes before turning on her heel, leaving him to skulk back to the stock room. Tardiness was a plague on her shop, and she resolved to deal with it more firmly next time. Manage her manager needed to be timely or face the consequences!
